William R. Brown, CPA, from New Kent, received his MBA in finance from Iona College, in New York, and his BBA in accounting from the City University of New York, Bernard M. Baruch College.
He is the CEO of W.R. Brown & Co., which he established in 1981. He also has 14 years as an arbitrator and six years as a mediator.
Previous professional responsibilities include Managing Partner of Stewart, Benjamin & Brown, P.C., Audit Manager at S.D. Leidesdorf & Company, lecturer on the Construction Contractor’s Accounting Committee and member of the Federal Key Persons Program of the AICPA.
He is a CPA in Virginia and New York, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Brown formerly served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of CPAs and is a past chair of the State Board for Public Accountancy of the Regents of the State University of New York. He was also appointed to the Executive Committee of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA and served on its governing council.
