The Inactive status policy is changing July 1, 2026, to require all CPAs currently approved for Inactive status to start including “Inactive” in their title. The policy also adds a new “Emeritus” status for retirees: Read the policy here.
CPA licensees at a few state boards of accountancy have reported a phishing attempt (see image). The email appears to come from NASBA and urges a quick response to a complaint filed against you. This is a scam. Do not click on the email or reply. You can report it to NASBA by emailing examsecurity@nasba.org. Learn more here.
